Hello everyone Just thought I would say hello and make my mark on Minster Matters guest book. I have only lived in Minster for 13 years, feel I have lived here for ever. I am ever grateful for this fact, that we have such a pretty village and the most friendly and helpful people in all the shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, chemist, surgery etc. Every time I walk to the village, I reckon I say dozens of "hellos" which are met with friendly and genuine greetings in return. Never need to be lonely in Minster, that's a fact. Yvonne Chapman

I am attempting my genology tree and have found that it goes back to 1698 to Solomon Hougham who married Susanna Neale in St. Mary's Church in the early 1700s. Solomon was born in St. Peter's Sandwich in 1674 and died in 1740. They had 2 children - Solomon and Richard. Not sure if there is any record of the marriage at the church as this was so long ago. Just checking to see if anyone knows about them or the history behind. I am very interested to understand and learn about my ancestory. Thanks Cindy Angelo (Texas)

I have found this site very enjoyable. I grew up in Minster and looking at the pictures of events in the village nothing seems to have changed. I am trying to write about my childhood growing up in Minster in 1950's and would welcome any input from anyone who knew our family. Especially any anecdotes or just things people in the village remember. It would also be interesting to find out how life has panned out for those who stayed in the village.
